When the World Seems Too Big

"It's a small world." If you are familiar with Disney, you might recognize this saying from the ride "It's a small world" at the theme park. This saying goes back to 1964 when the ride opened, but it has carried on past that and into common speech. I have heard this saying many times whenever I run into someone I haven't seen in a while. But when it comes to sharing the gospel, suddenly the world doesn't seem quite so small.

When you are standing in front of the cash register having just asked the lady if you can pray for her, but instead of answering she kindly rejects your offer and starts talking about her cat instead, it can feel like the world is just going downhill. And like there's nothing you can do. Yes, that exact situation above happens to me almost every few weeks. Someday I'll get around to her.

Why does it feel like you are the only person who actually cares about other's salvation? These are thoughts I'm sure we all have, I know I do, and I want to encourage you to think otherwise.

Yes, it sometimes does feel like the world is too big for us to change on our own, but that's ok. We don't need to change the world; we just need to change our world. By shining Jesus's light, being kind, and sharing the gospel with the people you come across, that can change the world that you live in. And your world can spread a lot farther than you might think.

They say that if you only know five people, you have connections to the whole world. By changing your world, you can change someone else's. And they change someone else's, and it goes on. Changing your world can transform the whole world, and the earth as big as it is, has suddenly turned into a small world.

However, it can still be discouraging to feel like no one else cares. And that's why Brave the Battle even exists. This is a place we can share our stories, pray with people, and be encouraged that God is working in our world. But this change doesn't begin by reading this short article. It begins when you take action. So, change your world, check out the Weekly Challenge, and complete it with us as a team to encourage both us and you. Don't let the battle intimidate you. It only takes one prayer at a time to change the world.
